ARTS: MUSIC
List: Top Ten Bestselling Albums in Japan
Date: 2005
Source: Oricon
Base: Unit sales based on The "Oricon Year", running from the 1st December 2004 to 30th November 2005.
Notes: Oricon (also known as Oricon Style) produces the Japanese music charts as well as other music industry-related information. The name is derived from the English words "Original Confidence". Number one were 'Orange Range', a five-piece (previously 6 - one member resigned / was kicked out...) rock band from Okinawa and signed to the Sony label. Second were 'Ketsumeishi' who title all their albums 'Ketsu no Police' followed by the number of the album. This is a pun since the word 'ketsu' is Japanese slang for your bottom - i.e. all the albums are called "Arse Police" (or 'Ass Police' for our American readers).
