Notes: The album featuring Andy Warhol's iconic banana cover by the Velvet Underground came top. The Velvets lined-up as Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison and Mo Tucker with Nico providing a European avant-garde flavour. The album was edited and remixed under the supervision of Tom Wilson by Gene Radice & David Greene with recording engineers Omi Haden and Val Valentin. "Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" by the Arctic Monkeys popped in at 36th position and was the most modern album on the list.
