List: Top Ten Greatest Guitar Solos of all time
Date: February 2000
Source: Guitar World magazine
Base: No data on number readers took part in the poll.
Notes: Guitar World is a U.S. based publication from FUTURE NETWORK USA written by and for all those who love the guitar. A full top 100 was produced and the list was rock heavy, focused on the late '60s / early '70s period and almost entirely made-up of English or American guitarists, with the first non Yank / Brit being Yngwie Malmsteen who came in at number 36 for his 'Black Star' solo. There were no female artists in the list. Your editor rates Keith Richards on The Rolling Stones - "Sympathy for the Devil" - from 'Get Your Ya Ya's Out' live recording album should be in at number one.
