Base: GfK Automotive collects information monthly from a nationally representative sample of 200,000 US households. During January through March of 2005, men and women were asked about the next new car and/or truck they intended to purchase.

Notes: "It seems the cliches are indeed true," according to Doug Scott, Senior Vice President, GfK Automotive. "Men are drawn to higher-priced 'performance' cars, with 41% citing looks and design as a key consideration. Women, on the other hand, want the more conservative, 'value' models ... affordable, fun and practical." So, just like looking for a sexual mate then?
