Notes: According to DesRosiers, 743,319 new light-trucks were sold in Canada in 2006, a total only some 120,000 units short of the 863,160 new passenger cars that were sold in Canada over the same period. Despite a higher average selling price, more than one out of every three vehicles sold in Canada in 2006 was a 'truck'.
