List: Top Ten Most Expensive Office Markets in the World
Date: 2008
Source: CB Richard Ellis.
Base: The research tracks world markets with the highest and fastest growing occupancy costs for the 12 months to the end of March 2008.
Notes: Taken from the report "Global Market Rents Survey 2008" tracks office market rents in the world's top business locations across the world. The report's global league table of the world's most expensive office markets is led by the London's West End. 2008 showed a number of changes as commercial property underwent turmoil resulting from the credit crunch and saw Asia emerge as a major player with Dubai and Singapore moving into the top ten for the first time, ahead of previous leaders like Hong Kong and New York, although mid-town Manhattan is still the priciest market in the US and number 13 worldwide. Ho Chi Minh City had the fastest growing rates, up 94%, followed by Moscow on 93% and Singapore on 86%.
