Notes: Danny Rimer came top on top of his involvement with the $1 billion (£510 million) sale of portfolio company Minerva, developer of the MySQL open-source database, to computing giant Sun Microsystems. He had previously been involved with the Skype sale. Second was Peter Cullum who oversaw 14 acquisitions in 2007 at insurance intermediary Towergate, including the purchase of software company OpenGi for £275 million. Third position went to George Coelho, a general partner at Balderton Capital.
