Notes: The report "Main Streets Across the World 2006" is a global league table drawn up by taking the most expensive location in each of the countries monitored. In 2006 Cushman & Wakefield found that retail rents had risen or remained stable in 97 per cent of the locations monitored compared to the previous year. Just outside the yop ten were 'Ermou' in Athens, 'Preciados' in Madrid, Orchard Road in Singapore, Via Montenapoleone in Milan and Tverskaya in Moscow
