Base: All UK websites with audited viewing statistics that agree to have their results shown in the public domain. Under ABCE rules, media owners have the option to choose whether their figures are released into the public domain. Only sites audited from June 2004 are included; 12 months being the suggested lifetime for an ABCE website audit

Notes: Friends Reunited was sold to ITV, Britain's biggest commercial TV network, in December 2005 for £175 million (€258 million, $304 million) from the website group's founders and employees. The deal comprised an immediate payment in cash and shares of £120 million, plus £55 million during 2009 depending on performance, ITV said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange. UPDATE: In 2009, the Friends Reunited business was sold to Brightsolid for £25 million.
