Notes: Rankings are by provision of advanced producer services such as accountancy, advertising, finance, and law. Therefore, cities hosting multinational corporations providing financial and consulting services will rank higher. New York and London are the only two cities rated at 'Alpha ++' by the GaWC (based at Loughborough University in the UK). The next eight positions were all taken by cities rated at 'Alpha +'. Cities on the next rank down (at index level - 'Alpha') were: Madrid, Moscow, Seoul, Toronto, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Mumbai, Kuala Lumpur, Chicago.
