Notes: The speeds listed are for top speed measured. The cheetah tops the list of fastest mammals clocking a super zippy top speed of 79mph, or 127kph in metric. Cheetahs can accelerate from 0 - 45 mph in two seconds and can maintain over 70mph for up to 300 yards. This is comfortably ahead of the second-fastest mammal, the Pronghorn Antelope, which can reach 57mph (114kph).
As a comparison the fastest human in the world can reach approximately 38kph - as long as his sneakers hold.
