List: Top Ten Soviet Fighter Pilots in Second World War
Date: June 2006
Source: Wikipedia
Base: All Soviet fighter pilots (Luftwaffe) in World War II with a confirmed 'Victory'
Notes: Different air forces had different methods of tallying a 'Victory' (i.e. plane shot down) so figures cannot be compared fairly across the nations. Ivan Nikitovich Kozhedub (June 8, 1920 - August 12, 1991) was of Ukrainian descent. He flew the Lavochkin La-5 from March of 1943 onwards on several fronts in 330 combat missions, 120 aerial engagements for 62 'Victories'.
