List: Top Ten Political Blogs in UK
Date: September 2009
Source: Total Politics (via Mrs Dale)
Base: "The voting system used to compile this list was simple. Bloggers and blog readers were asked to rank their top ten blogs and then email them to Total Politics. The results were fed into a spreadsheet, with the top blog getting ten points, the second blog nine points and so on. In total, people voted for 940 blogs (compared to 590 in 2008)." Fourteen blogs asked not to take part. More than 1,500 people voted.
Notes: There was one new entry to the top ten in 2009 - Paul Waugh of the Evening Standard. Out of the Top 100, 39 blogs were right-leaning and 32 were left-leaning. A special shout out to Samizdata, which came in 43rd, and to Old Holborn's 'throbbing organ' which slotted in at 16th on the list. Two exemplary Libertarian blogs flying the freedom flag in a depressingly statist Britain.
