List: Top Ten Attended One-Off Sporting Events in the UK 2005
Date: 2005
Source: BHRB, R&A, AELTC, Deloitte Sports Business Group
Base: FTSE 100
Notes: Not sure if horse racing really counts as a sport but whatever its definition four of the ten events listed below were horse racing meetings and equestrianism grabbed another place giving watching the ponies 5 entries. As for the cricket, the 5th Ashes Test almost gave your editor a heart-attack and I don't think I've fully recovered since. What a truly great game cricket is, and certainly the most sociable to watch - except possibly in Australia where the supporters rival those of Man Utd for arrogance and gracelessness.
