Notes: Manchester United FC headed the list, just one ahead of London rivals Arsenal. The Wanderers are the only team in the list currently not playing. The club was an amateur side based in Battersea, London, originally formed by old boys from Harrow public school. It was the dominant force in the early days of the FA Cup, winning it five times between 1872 and 1878, before disbanding.
